Auto repair in the United States is split between independent shops, dealership service departments and national chains. Independents handle most routine work (oil changes, brakes, tune-ups, check-engine diagnostics) at lower labor rates and often specialize in one make or in imports; dealers keep factory tools, software and warranty authority; chains sell speed and standard pricing on maintenance items. Most shops charge a diagnostic fee, credited toward the repair if you go ahead, and quote parts and labor separately. Certification matters: look for ASE-certified technicians and, in many states, a state repair license posted at the counter. Written estimates are required by law in most states before work begins, and you are entitled to your old parts if you ask.

Hours are published for 6 days a week. Typical hours are 8 am–6 pm. Note that it does not open on Sunday. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. I have taken my vehicles to this location for years, but after they have tried to scam both my daughter and myself now multiple times I will not be going back. I have contacted Corporate to let them know how low down this location is and how they obviously try to scam women. Veteran owned? They should be ashamed! For example, one time I took my vehicle in and was told I desperately needed brakes. I did not do anything to my brakes and then when I took my car back MONTHS later for my next oil change, I was informed that my brakes were just fine. Two other times my 20 year-old daughter has taken other vehicles of mine there and they have tried to begin work WITHOUT my authorization for things that they have charged close to three times or more of the actual cost that a reputable person would charge! This last time I told my daughter to flat out tell them if they did not stop I would sue them and that is what it took for them to put the car back together and give it back to her. This is ridiculous and this place needs to be shut down!

Went in because my truck was cutting off. They recommended replacing the fuel pump, over $500 for the part, not counting another $450 for labor. They also recommended several other things that needed to be done, including a brake fluid flush. I paid them for a brake fluid flush in April!! Also, I checked with O'Reilly Auto Parts, a fuel pump for my vehicle costs $109 with core trade in. So, they are marking up the fuel pump I needed by 400%!! I understand that they need to make a profit, but a 400% mark up and recommending services that they already charged me for 4 months ago, ridiculous!

First off I am not one to write reviews. I have made a handfull in my life but people need to be warned.... I was having a squeaking noise coming from my truck when I accelerated and also a rumbling feeling when I got to higher speeds. I wanted to take it in to a shop that I trusted but they couldn't get me in for a week, so I took it into Tuffy on 7/20/26 to get it checked out. They told me the squeaking was from the serpentine belt and needs to be replaced and the rumbling was from my all terrain tires that I had just got two months ago. I explained that the rumbling just started a few days ago and I really believed it was something other than the tires so they double checked and assured me that it was the tires. They gave me a quote for $800 to replace the belt and 2 pullyes and $1200 for street tires to fix my issues. I thought that was way too steep for the serpentine belt and I was happy with my new tires I had just bought. So I declined, payed the $120 diagnostic fee, and waited a week to get into the other mechanic shop. It turns out that it wasn't the tires or serpentine belt at all. The other shop immediately found that the issue was the universal joint in the rear axl

Unfortunately I will not be returning to Tuffy Tire in Concord. After asking people on Facebook for their mechanic recommendations in the area I was excited to find a full service mechanic shop that could take care of my needs. The services I needed: oil change, tire rotation, air filter replacement, blinker lights replacement, and fluids topped up. (Service date 4/10) I get my car back and see my engine oil filter has a puddle of oil around it, I think β€œmaybe it’s a small leak I’ll keep an eye on it” and then this week (5/8) my AC isn’t blowing correctly which happens when my air filter is clogged up. I go and check it and it’s clearly NOT been checked or changed, it was FILTHY. Now there could have been a miscommunication, and I completely get that. But as I was told this was a β€œfull service mechanic shop” and you would think since they take pictures all around your car and look through them with you they would also check the air filters (both engine and cabin) and recommend if they be replaced or not. Well this is not the case at Tuffy Tire. As a customer, its not my job to be a mechanic and make sure they’re taking care of my car the way they should, I trusted them and spent my

On April 11, 2026 I came to the Concord branch for a tune up and oil change. I specifically pointed out that i really only wanted my spark plugs changed, filters had been recentlychanged... Walking into the store it was pleasant and clean...customer service was very polite and helpful. When I asked about the possibility of also replacing my wiper blades he gave me an estimate. I also picked from 4 different oil services knowing using synthetic oil is about 100.00 right off the bat. What I didn't get was an estimate for how much a tune up/changing spark plugs would be. I had my uncle look up the laser indium spark plugs online, and no way did they cost 332.76 they charged me. The labor for 187.99 was very just as he also thought.. Yes they sent me a text at 1015am of the system check they had already performed under the hood and around car...as well as showed me on his tablet letting me know everything looked good except for a possible alignment which I agreed with but at that point wasn't adding another 128.39 to my bill...they also said I declined a fuel/air induction service which according to Google is the cleaning of my air and or fuel filters in which they told me were also l
